Magistrate Yogesh Prasad has instructed three escorting police officers to take Ginna Choi, Lagomarcino Baules and Peniasi Delai to the Legal Aid Commission for representation.
Choi, Baules and Delai, who were allegedly found with methamphetamine in Rewa Street, Suva, had earlier opted for Legal Aid after their private counsel failed to appear in court on the previous date.
This morning, the three informed the court that they wished to represent themselves.
However, Magistrate Prasad noted that during the last court appearance, he had directed the escorting officers to take them to Legal Aid, but those instructions were not followed.
The three are alleged to have been found in possession of 0.345 grams of methamphetamine at a Rewa Street home in September.
The matter has been adjourned to November 5th.
Delai is a Fijian citizen, Choi is a citizen of the Federated States of Micronesia, and Baules is from Palau.
Choi and Baules are related and are in Fiji on tourist visas.
All three are charged with one count of unlawful possession of illicit drugs.
