A major development is expected this Friday as Independent Member of Parliament and former Army Commander, Viliame Naupoto is expected to make an End of the Week Statement in parliament on the review of the 2013 Constitution.

Naupoto who is the Whip of the Opposition Bloc of 9 led by Ioane Naivalurua, has confirmed to fijivillage News that he is just lending his voice to the call for a review of the Constitution.

When we asked Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, he confirmed that the End of the Week Statement this Friday will kick things off for the review process of the Constitution.

We will have more later this week.

According to Section 160 of the 2013 Constitution, an amendment to the Constitution has to have the support of 75 percent of the Members of Parliament and 75 percent of registered voters in a referendum.
