MIOT Pacific Medical has launched the first ever medical facility on a digital platform in Fiji which is located at Amy Street in Suva.

MIOT Pacific Medical is a subsidiary of FijiCare Insurance Limited under the company, Omnicare Private Limited.

It has access to 250 specialists across 63 specialties for telemedicine and specialist camps through MIOT International in Chennai, India.

While speaking at the launch, FijiCare Executive Director, Avi Raju says the platform allows for online booking, local and international telemedicine and online payments.

Raju says they are embedding digitization and innovation to the health care ecosystem for Fijians.

He says the launch is only the first step towards what they are planning for the next 12 months.

Raju says if all goes to plan, they will have 5 more facilities within the next 12 months worth $11 million.

He adds they want these facilities to have world class customer service.

Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says they are excited about this as government has engaged more with the private sector after COVID-19.

Sayed-Khaiyum says what is exciting about MIOT Pacific Medical is the use of digital means to deliver medical services and keep records.

He says everything is paperless which is very significant because that goes in hand with the Digital Fiji program the Government has launched.

Sayed-Khaiyum adds if the private sector has the combination of profit generation and being ethical about their business, then it is a win-win situation for both parties.
