MGM High School excels in sports and academic work

Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School, has consistently proven its commitment to fostering both academic and sporting excellence among its students and over the years, the school has become a symbol of inspiration and achievement.

The school's sports teams have now excelled in various secondary schools competitions, bringing numerous trophies and medals such as becoming the Southern Zone U17 Deans champion, winning the U17 rugby league final, Kesaia Boletakanakadavu successfully defending her blue ribbon title at this year’s Coca-Cola Games in the 100 metres final, and also winning the Southern Zone U18 Raluve final.

MGM High is also in the Deans U17 final and the U18 Raluve final.

Principal of MGM Sanjay Raman says in terms of academics, the school has attained commendable results, year after year.

Raman says its curriculum, with their dedicated teachers has created an environment that nurtures intellectual growth and encourages students to reach for the stars.

He says the school's high academic standards have led to consistently excellent performances in various examinations, with its students securing top ranks at both the local and national levels.

However, MGM High School's success is not limited to the classroom alone, the school has also dedicated itself to the development of sports among its students.

Raman says the school believes in the holistic growth of its students, understanding that physical fitness and sports are integral to their overall well-being.

He also says the commitment shown by both the students and the teachers has resulted in numerous achievements in the sporting arena.

He says his proud of the dedication and perseverance of the students, combined with the guidance provided by the school, have enabled them to showcase their skills and represent the school with pride.

Raman says the school ensures discipline, teamwork, leadership, and a strong sense of sportsmanship among the students.

He says they hope that their success continues to inspire other schools and students to strive for excellence in all aspects of education.
