A low pressure system currently lying near Solomon Islands is expected to deepen however the Fiji Meteorological Service says this system is not expected to directly affect Fiji.

Acting Director, Terry Atalifo says the only concern for Fiji will be the possibility of heavy rain with risk of flooding in low lying areas from the associated convergence zone or trough from mid next week.

Fiji Met will continue to monitor this weather event and update warnings and forecasts accordingly.
