Timoci Lolohea has today agreed with DPP lawyer, Siteri Navia that while stabbing his defacto partner his intention was to kill her.

Lolohea made this comment while taking the stand in his murder trial.

During cross examination Navia had asked Lolohea if he had always assaulted his defacto partner, Lolohea says that only when he first found out that she was having an affair.

When asked by Navia if he had planned to kill his defacto partner, Lolohea said who would not want to kill or plan to kill her after she broke their matrimonial contract and went with another man.

While responding to the defence lawyer, Lisiate Qetaki’s questions he said he had woken up on the day of the incident in his apartment alone.

Lolohea says that after what he had found out due to her betrayal, he was haunted by the fact that he was going to lose her.

Lolohea said he had a feeling of loneliness and wanted to restore what he had with the deceased and for that he went to look for the victim.

He said he wanted to meet her to ask for her to come back and get her to sign documents.

Lolohea said this document were some property papers which was to prove that he still loved the deceased and had the ability to provide for them.

He revealed in court that he had spent 18 years of his life as a Military Officer and has been deployed on over 30 to 40 peacekeeping tours.

Lolohea said while on his tours he had witnessed a lot of atrocities which had taken toll on his mental state of being.

The 56-year-old said this had affected all his relationships and after this he had resorted to violence to solve issues.

He said during his military training he was trained to kill and not to save.

The trial will continue before High Court Judge Justice Salesi Temo later this morning.
