Local Govt elections to be in September or October – Prof. Prasad

The local government elections are likely to be held around September or October this year.

This has been confirmed by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Professor Biman Prasad while responding to questions on fijivillage Straight Talk with Vijay Narayan on local government elections as the general elections are expected to be held next year.

Professor Prasad says the government has put out the draft legislation changes to the Local Government Act which is being discussed and finalized.
