Liverpool has edged rivals Everton 1-nil this morning as they get closer to lifting the English Premier League title.

Diogo Jota scored in the 57th minute.

"We're gonna win the league", was the chant from the home supporters at full-time knowing a second League title is within grasp after moving 12 points clear at the top with eight games to play.

In other matches, Manchester City beat Leicester City 2-1, Aston Villa defeated Brighton 3-nil, Ipswich Town edged AFC Bournemouth 2-1 while Southampton and Crystal Palace finished with a 1-all draw.

Liverpool is leading the table with 73 points followed by Arsenal with 61 points, Nottingham Forest is third with 57 points while Manchester City is fourth with 51 points.
