Christmas is a time of fellowship and merry-making with friends and family members, and it is also a good time to reflect on what has transpired, learn from the shortfalls and make commitments to be a better person.

In his Christmas message, President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere reminds us that Christmas is also a great time to make new friends and mend relationships to be accommodating and forgiving.

He says during this Christmas, many will gather in churches to worship and thank the almighty for his abundant and unfailing love in the past year while some will not be with their families as they will serve the sick in hospitals or the aged neglected and destitute in homes or shelters.

Ratu Wiliame reminded them that they are in our prayers and he is hopeful that a neighbour will visit them today to bring them some Christmas cheer.

The President says our national budget promises to reduce the overall cost of goods and services for the benefit of ordinary citizens, and it continues to focus on health and education, the development of infrastructure and other things.

He says this will allow everyone to do more to improve the overall socio-economic status of all people.

Ratu Wiliame also highlighted that Christmas is the best time to reach out to the less fortunate.
