The Hyperchem Pharmacy Lautoka overcame the AK Plumbing Rewa 2-1 in the Digicel Fiji FACT final this afternoon to lift the trophy after 21 years.

Saula Waqa was the toast for Lautoka scoring the winning goal in the first spell of extra time.

The game went into halftime then into fulltime with both teams locked at 1-all after Afraz Ali scored for the Sugar City men in the 8th minute before Josaia Sela pulled one back for Rewa to level the score.

Waqa says the journey was not easy for them as they encountered a lot of ups and downs throughout the tournament.

He dedicated this win to his bedridden grandmother.

Lautoka Coach Ronil Kumar says he reminded the boys of the importance of being physically and mentally prepared for this final which proved to be the difference.

He says Rewa was not going to be easy as they were unbeaten throughout the tournament, but the men from the Sugar City were confident and believed in themselves.

Aporosa Yada was named the player of the tournament.
