Lautoka delivered a commanding performance to defeat Labasa 4-1 in Round 13 of the Extra Premier League held at Subrail Park.

Lautoka made a strong start with Mohammed Shazil Ali scoring two quick goals to give his team an early lead.

Labasa struggled to break down Lautoka’s defense throughout the first half, but Rodney Lava struck to add Lautoka’s third goal, sending the visitors into the break with a 3-0 advantage.

The second half saw Lautoka maintaining control, with Sairusi Qiolevu scoring the fourth goal to seal the win.

Despite Lautoka’s dominance, Labasa managed to score a consolation goal through a penalty by Rusiate Doidoi.

Lautoka’s captain Poasa Bainivalu acknowledged the efforts of the players who gave their very best to take the lead in the match.

He says their game plan was to put pressure on Labasa during the first half, and they managed to do just that in this match.

He adds that this is a sweet victory for them ahead of the upcoming Battle of the Giants tournament.
