Labasa wins BiC Fiji FACT title after beating Rewa 3-1 in penalty shootout

Labasa wins BiC Fiji FACT title after beating Rewa 3-1 in penalty shootout

Extra Supermarket Labasa has been crowned as the new BiC Fiji FACT champion after beating Ajay Trading Rewa 3-1 in penalty shootout at the HFC Bank Stadium this afternoon.

Both teams finished 1-1 at full time.

The Babasiga Lions were reduced to 10 men after veteran defender Taniela Waqa received a red card in the second half, but they refused to let their spirits drop.

Labasa coach Alvin Chand says the players had faith in each other and executed their plan despite being without star player Christopher Wasasala.

While speaking to fijivillage News, Chand says they have not had the same 11 players throughout the season but he had faith and trust in the players.
