Labasa beat Ba 2-1 in the Extra Supermarket Premier League at Subrail Park in Labasa.

Ba struck first through Penisoni Tirau in the 13th minute of the match, before Labasa equalised with a penalty from Jimson Abana in the 30th minute.

The score was 1-all at half-time.

Towards the end of the second half, Ilisoni Lolaivalu scored a goal for Labasa, giving them a 2-1 lead.

Labasa coach Alvin Chand says they were happy to give the home crowd a win, and it was good to see the smiles on their faces.

He says he made the decision to keep some key players reserved for the second half of the game, and they delivered their best.

The coach says the team had trained for three weeks for this game, and their hard work had paid off with this win.

Labasa is currently leading the table with 13 points.

In other matches of the Extra Supermarket Premier League yesterday, Navua won against Lautoka 1-0, and Nadroga defeated Tavua 3-1.

Meanwhile, Suva will take on Nasinu at 3pm today at the HFC Bank Stadium.
