The Land Transport Authority has been told to give some permits to vehicle owners in various communities in the Northern Division to ensure students are taken to schools and dropped at home from today.
Minister for Disaster Management, Inia Seruiratu says this is being done because there are no bus services in some areas due to weight restrictions and the road conditions.
He says this will be well coordinated.
Seruiratu adds there are some people carrying loads in excess of what is permitted particularly at the slip in Lomaloma and the bridge in Tabia.
He says they will take the people to task who continue to disregard the directives.
