Fiji Men's 7s to play New Zealand in HK 7s cup quarterfinal at 10.24 tonight

The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side will play New Zealand in the Hong Kong 7s quarterfinal at 10.24 tonight after beating France 14-7 in their last pool game this afternoon.

Fiji qualified as the 3rd best team from their pool after securing 2 wins and a loss.

Ponipate Loganimasi scored the first converted try in the first half after breezing through the French defence.

Fiji led 7-0 at half-time.

France took advantage of their numbers advantage after Fiji was reduced to 6 men following a yellow card to Loganimasi for a deliberate knock-on.

Nelson Epee crossed over in the corner which was successfully converted to lock the scores at 7-all.

Fiji replied in the final minute of the game after Napolioni Bolaca scored a converted try to gift Fiji the win.

The Men’s Cup quarter finals will start at 9.09 tonight with the USA taking on Ireland, France will play Spain at 9.35pm and South Africa will play Australia at 10.01pm.

The Men’s cup semi finals will be at 5.40pm tomorrow and the Men’s Cup Final will kick off at 10.53pm tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s side will play the USA at 7.34 tonight in the first Women’s Cup quarter final.

France will play Ireland in the second quarter final at 7.57pm, Canada will play New Zealand at 8.20pm and Australia will take on Japan at 8.43pm. The Women’s Cup semi finals will be at 4.54pm tomorrow and the women’s Cup Final will kick off at 10.13pm tomorrow.
