In an effort to provide the Ministry of Health humanitarian assistance to assist Fiji’s response to the second wave of COVID-19, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has provided assistance worth $49,800.

The assistance will enable the ministry to equip the health facilities with new sets of 400 mattresses, 400 pillows, 1150 linen bed covers and 650 pillow covers.

Minister for Health, Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete says this assistance adds value to the tireless efforts and sacrifices of the health care workers in Fiji who aspire to protect and safeguard the lives of all Fijians.

Dr Waqainabete says while the battle against COVID-19 ahead is tough, together as a nation with everyone working together, Fiji will get through this.

Church elder Paul B Whippy says they are pleased to be able to make this contribution in appreciation of the Government’s response to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.
