The Swire Shipping Fiji Drua has suffered a major setback to their preparation for the 2023 Shop n Save Super Rugby Pacific campaign as halfback Simione Kuruvoli has been ruled out after undergoing surgery on his shoulder.
Drua head coach Mick Byrne says Kuruvoli returned from the end-of-the-year tour with the Flying Fijians last year with an injured shoulder.
He says it is unfortunate for the team but Kuruvoli will be helping out with the team throughout the season.
Byrne says Kuruvoli’s replacement will be named next week.
The Fijian Drua will face Melbourne Rebels in their first pre-season match at 3pm next Saturday at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.
