Fiji Kulas gave their best effort but lost 2-0 to Samoa in the battle for third place at the OFC Women’s Nations Cup 2025 at HFC Bank Stadium.
Kulas had many chances, but they couldn’t score.
Their goalkeeper faced tough shots from Samoa early on, and Fiji’s own shots often missed or were saved by Samoan keeper Kamy Anaya.
Coach Angeline Chua made several changes to try and help Fiji score, bringing on players like Ema Mereia, Koleta Likuculacula, and Trina Davis.
Fiji showed fight, with free kicks and shots hitting the crossbar and going just wide.
One big chance was missed in the 75th minute when Elesi Tabunase shot wide from close range.
Despite their pressure and effort, Fiji couldn’t find the goal to get back into the match.
In the end, Samoa kept their lead and Fiji finished fourth.
Meanwhile, Papua New Guinea will clash with the Solomon Islands in the OFC Women’s Nations Cup 2025 final at 7pm at HFC Bank Stadium.
