Fiji-born Wallabies centre Samu Kerevi is likely to miss the Wallabies’ Rugby World Cup opener against Georgia this weekend after he was seen sitting on the sideline with his runners on during a team’s training session.

Kerevi has spent the past few weeks running but missed crucial contact sessions after breaking his hand during the Wallabies’ 23-20 loss to the All Blacks in Dunedin last month.

Coach Eddie Jones seems to not want to take the risk as he will want to have his key players such as Kerevi ready if they make it into the knockout stages.

Jones will confirm his side to take on Georgia this weekend tomorrow evening, but Kerevi’s absence, should it indeed be confirmed, will be a blow.

The Wallabies will take on Georgia at 4am this Sunday in their first RWC game.

They will play the Fiji Water Flying Fijians at 3.45am on the 18th of this month.

The RWC kicks off this Saturday with host France taking on the All Blacks at 7.15am in Paris.
