Ikale Tahi Tonga coach Toutai Kefu has retained his starting XV that lost to Ireland in their 2023 Rugby World Cup opener last week to face Scotland in their second pool game tomorrow morning.

Kefu has only made 2 changes to the match day 23 squad with former Wallabies lock Adm Coleman and flyhalf Patrick Pellegrini coming in and will start from the bench.

Former All Blacks players Salesi Piutau, Malakai Fekitoa, Augustine Pulu and Vaea Fifita all retain their respective places in the starting XV.

The decision by Kefu to retain his starting XV means former captain Sonatane Takulua will start back-to-back on the bench for Tonga for the first time in his nine-year test career.

Former Chiefs prop and Racing 92 front-rower Ben Tameifuna will captain the side.

Tonga will be looking to improve from their heavy loss to the Irish last week and will be eyeing to create an upset against Scotland.

Tonga will take on Scotland at 3.45am tomorrow morning.

Tonga Starting XV:

Siegfried Fisi'ihoi, Paula Ngauamo, Ben Tameifuna (c), Halaleva Fifita, Sam Lousi, Tanginoa Halaifonua, Sione Talitui, Vaea Fifita, Augustine Pulu, William Havili, Afusipa Taumoepeau, Pita Ahki, Malakai Fekitoa, Solomone Kata, Salesi Piutau.

Replacements:

Sam Moli, Tau Koloamatangi, Sosefo Apikotoa, Adam Coleman, Semisi Paea, Sione Vailanu, Sonatane Takulua, Patrick Pellegrini.
