The Safeguard Global ACT Brumbies women have named a strong lineup with the inclusion of 3 players with links to Fiji against defending champions the Rooster Chicken Fijiana Drua in their Super W season opener on Saturday.

Lydia Kavoa, will be making her Brumbies debut, while Fijiana 15s prop Iris Verebalavu and Tabua Tuinakauvadra are also in the 23-match-day squad.

The historic fixture is the first-ever Super W game in Fiji, with Head coach Scott Fava naming ten potential Brumbies debutants.

Fava says as a team and organisation, they are excited and honoured to be part of such a landmark game for women’s rugby in Fiji.

He says the Fijiana Drua are a fantastic team and there will be a big home crowd in Fiji, but they will embrace all of that and put their best foot forward as a group.

The Fijiana Drua will play the Brumbies at 1.35pm Saturday at Prince Charles Park.

In other Super W matches this week, the Waratahs will play the Western Force at 6.05pm tomorrow and the Rebels will take on the Reds at 6.05pm Saturday.
