Karan moves to 5th place on Fiji’s all-time ranking for 3,000 metres event

Former Coca-Cola Games champion, Yeshnil Karan has moved to 5th place on Fiji’s all-time ranking list for the 3,000 metres event.

Karan clocked an exceptional time of 8 minutes and 54.83 seconds, his personal best in 3,000 metres at the Sunshine Coast Track Classic in Brisbane on Saturday.

Karan who is from Yaladro, Tavua also celebrated his 21st birthday in Brisbane and received best wishes from British 1500m middle-distance legend, Steve Ovett who set multiple world records in the 1500m, mile and two-mile races.

Karan will be based in Brisbane for 3-months for intensive training and track and cross-country competitions.

He will join the Fiji Team and take part in the Oceania Athletics Championships in Mackay from 7th to 11th June, 2022.
