Ba Kajiana Rugby side vs Wainibuka Kajiana

The Ba Kajiana Rugby side had a strong start in the Kaji and Kajiana Rugby Competition after beating Wainibuka 10-7 in the Under-14 grade.

Head Coach Petero Vaisewa says that because the girls attend schools in different areas — some in the interior of Ba and a few in town — they only had one week to prepare.

Vaisewa says the players were selected three weeks ago and have been training at their respective schools.

He adds that financial challenges remain a major concern for the team, but this has not deterred their focus on preparing within a week and coming to Suva to represent Ba in the national competition.

The head coach says he hopes the team will give their best in the remaining games.

Looking at other Kajiana results, Navosa thrashed Macuata 22-5, Rewa defeated Taveuni 17-5, and Yasawa beat Waidina 19-5.

In the Kaji competition, Suva Blues U13 beat Kadavu 7-0.

Meanwhile, the Lautoka U13 side is currently playing against Nadroga.

The competition is underway at the HFC Bank Stadium.
