It maybe a demanding job but it is also a rewarding one - Bailey

Nursing is such an amazing profession because you are there on the journey with each and every patient, and each patient has a story.

fijivillage News sat down with Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Heart Hospital, Nurse Manager, Helen Bailey who highlighted that while being a nurse maybe a demanding job, it is also a rewarding one, and a job for the heart.

Bailey says she volunteers her time to help the services and children of Fiji.

Her work also includes making sure that the staff are well organised, following hospital protocols, ensuring safety and infection standards are followed, looking after the nurses that come there for the mission, and making sure that the parents are happy.

She adds that she has been here for a while without her family.

Bailey says her experience at the Children’s Heart Hospital is not of a working environment, but one of family.

Her advice to those who want to go into nursing is to be passionate, and if it is in their heart, go for it.
