Opposition Whip, Lynda Tabuya.

Opposition Whip, Lynda Tabuya has now confirmed that Parliament has just received a letter from SODELPA asking the Speaker of Parliament to conduct another election for the Leader of Opposition.

She had said in an interview earlier today that the letter posted on FBC was fake and unsigned.

Tabuya has now said on her facebook post that she was unaware when questioned by the media about it and she confirmed that upon inquiry with Parliament no letter had been received by Parliament or the Opposition Office.

Tabuya says during afternoon tea at 3.30pm today, she was asked about this and confirmed she had not received any communication from Parliament about such a letter.

She says that it is her official role as the Whip to be the conduit between Parliament and the Office of the Leader of Opposition.

Tabuya has now posted that she does not delve in fake news to keep discrediting SODELPA.

A letter signed by SODELPA President, Ratu Epenisa Cakobau is now requesting the Speaker to have the election of the Opposition Leader again.

Ratu Epenisa had taken a letter of recommendation to be delivered to the SODELPA caucus before the election earlier this week where he said that they should vote for Viliame Gavoka to be the next Opposition Leader after Sitiveni Rabuka resigned from parliament. However 14 SODELPA MPs voted for Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu while 5 MPs votes for Gavoka.
