Minister for Women, Mereseini Vuniwaqa

Minister for Women, Mereseini Vuniwaqa says women are already in the front lines of every crisis and involving them effectively in economic recovery will be smart economics.

While speaking at the Ba Women’s Forum Development Training Center Graduation today, Vuniwaqa says Fijian women have come a long way and everyone should continue to work together especially during these trying times when the nation is fighting with COVID-19.

251 women graduates’ graduated in courses such as computer studies, sewing, cooking and baking.

Vuniwaqa says we should take steps in terms of women’s empowerment and prepare our women as mitigating forces as we build back as an economy.

She has also thanked the husbands, partners and male elders of the graduates’ for accepting the change and supporting the women of Ba to achieve their goals.
