Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources, Filimoni Vosarogo

Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources, Filimoni Vosarogo says he is unaware of the issues faced by Water Authority of Fiji relating to the over-extraction of gravel and sand in the Waimanu River, which is resulting in high turbidity levels for thousands of residents being supplied by the Tamavua Water Treatment Plant.

When asked by fijivillage News, Vosarogo says the Ministry may have had meetings about this matter, and he is willing to look into this issue.

He says WAF is most welcome to raise these issues with him.

We are currently trying to contact WAF and the Department of Environment.
