Swire Shipping Fijian Drua co-captain and hooker Tevita Ikanivere alongside flanker Etonia Waqa have been named in the Planet Rugby’s Super Rugby Pacific round 13 Team of the Week following their impressive performance in the Drua’s 28-19 win over the Reds on Saturday.

Ikanivere made a big impact whenever he had the ball in hand and scored two tries in the match.

The 24-year-old also was strong in defence making a total of 14 tackles and completing 11 of them while missing only 3.

He was also voted the fijivillage Drua Fan Player of the Match over the weekend.

Flanker Etonia Waqa was named ahead of other openside flankers who played well over the weekend after helping the Drua secure the win with his good attacking momentum.

There were several candidates for this position with the likes of Cullen Grace of the Crusaders, Adrian Choat of the Blues and Brad Shields of the Hurricanes who all played well, but Waqa’s outstanding performance had him recognised for this spot.

The 24-year-old made 35 metres in 7 carries throughout the match and also made one clean break.

Meanwhile, the Drua will take on the Highlanders at 2.05pm this Sunday in Dunedin. In other matches this week, the Chiefs play the Hurricanes at 7.05pm Friday, the Brumbies host the Rebels at 9.35pm Friday, Moana Pasifika take on the Waratahs at 4.35pm Saturday, the Crusaders play the Blues at 7.05pm Saturday, and the Reds meet the Force at 9.35pm Saturday.
