The Intercontinental Hotel Group hosted the Shave it or Save it event at two of their locations to show their support for WOWS Kids Fiji, at the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa in Natadola, and at the Holiday Inn, Suva.

WOWS Kids Fiji Team Leader, Mere Williams says post COVID-19 they struggled a bit to get this campaign rolling again which is why they are thankful that the IHG stepped in.

Williams says they are very appreciative of the IHG because there are 19 members made up of management and staff taking part in this campaign.

She says they have 7 at the Intercontinental and 12 at Holiday Inn getting their head shaved to show their support for children living with cancer in Fiji.

She says they have changed the concept of the Save it or Shave it campaign and are promoting it within corporate organisations to do their own campaigns and get their own pledges and reaching out to their own suppliers and business partners to fund-raise.

The Team Leader says this makes it easier for WOWS Kids Fiji to focus on the core functions of their organisation which is to provide direct support to the children living with cancer.

She says anyone can come onboard and they are glad that this big group had signed up as it spotlights the cause for WOWS Kids Fiji.

Williams says she is hopeful that other organisations can reach out and be a part of things likes this.
