Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama

Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama says as we celebrate Diwali, he thanks God we live in a country where we can so openly celebrate and share in the traditions of all our fellow Fijians.

While sending his Diwali message, the Prime Minister says he wishes everyone the very best from him and his family.

He says this Diwali is special because we celebrate with assurance that our resilience has prevailed over the pandemic and with the happiness that our recovery is here.

Bainimarama says from Friday through the weekend, Fijians of all backgrounds have been draped in sarees, salwar kameez and kurta, and workplaces have been decorated.

He also says on the day of Diwali, homes will be opened to friends and family members, work colleagues and neighbours, and he is sure many of us will enjoy one too many barfi.
