Permanent Secretary for Health Doctor James Fong says he feels the pain that people are going through and that is why they need to start looking at how businesses can operate and keep themselves COVID-19 safe.

Many people are on leave or leave without pay while many have also exhausted their leave and are unable to provide for their families.

These people are now waiting on when it would be safe to return to work, and this can only be possible when it is safe to open up businesses.

When asked on plans on how the time period of the suffering of the people can be reduced as COVID-19 cases continue to rise and many businesses remain closed, Doctor Fong says some of the businesses are coming up with COVID-19 safe plans and how they can operate and keep themselves safe.

Doctor Fong says the Ministry of Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport will now have to figure out how they can make businesses operate in a COVID safe way.

He says they know that this will not be an easy road.
