Hundreds of people gathered at the funeral service of Aryan Narayan whose body was found in the Rewa River yesterday to pay their last respects at his home in Wainibokasi, Nausori today.

Vunimono High School teacher, Prakash Chand has requested the members of the society to refrain from making assumptions about Narayan’s death.

He says it is unfortunate that his parents had to attend their only child’s funeral who hoped for his good life.

Some of Narayan’s school friends also came to pay their last respects.

Friends and family overseas who were not able to attend the funeral had sent their condolences.

Meanwhile, police investigators have started their inquiries in relation to the death of the 17 year old.

According to Narayan’s father, he wanted to eat chicken curry on Tuesday morning and had gone to a nearby shop at around 11am to buy a chicken and failed to return home.

Narayan was a Year 11 student of Vunimono High School.

Police say the boy was reported missing from his Wainibokasi home on Tuesday.

It is believed he had visible injuries on his body.
