History has been made as Fiji beach football captain Tevita Waranivalu has been nominated for Best Male Player at the Beach Soccer Stars 2024.

Waranivalu was instrumental for Fiji during the OFC Beach Soccer Men's Nations Cup campaign last year, where they won the bronze medal after a 4-0 victory over Papua New Guinea.

Fiji Football Association CEO Mohammad Yusuf made the announcement this morning and says 120 men’s players, 50 women’s players, and 45 coaches have been shortlisted, with voters having their say on who should emerge victorious.

Waranivalu says this recognition is the result not only of his hard work but also of the support of his family, coaches, teammates, and Fiji FA.

He says he is humbled to receive this recognition.

Waranivalu was also named Fiji Football Player of the Year last year.

Beach football captains and coaches will have until Sunday, 23rd February, to cast their votes.

The winners will be announced at the Beach Soccer Stars Gala 2024, with the date and location set to be confirmed soon.
