Competition is high within the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side for a spot in the final 13 that will be travelling to Australia for the HSBC SVNS Perth 7s at the end of this month.

Fiji 7s rep Kaminieli Rasaku says there are a lot of new and good players that have joined the extended squad, and everyone is competing for a spot in the final 13.

He says preparations have begun from last year, and all the players, especially, the boys that played in the Pacific Games, are giving their all to be in the final squad.

He adds that he is grateful that he has re-joined the team after playing for Bayonne in the Pro D2 competition in France.

The 24-year-old is aiming to be part of the squad for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

The Perth 7s will be held from the 26th to the 28th of this month.
