Heavy rain has caused flooding in some areas in Suva including Granthan Road, Nailuva Road, the University of the South Pacific carpark and Albert Park.

Reports are coming in from Grantham Road where flood waters have entered homes.

Granthan Road resident, Sunita Kumari says there is one feet of water in her house.

She says her house gets flooded every time there is heavy rain.

Kumari says this is because of poor drainage in her area.

Meanwhile, the USP car park opposite the Student Administrative Services building is flooded as well.

More than 10 cars seem to be affected as water is about 1 and a half feet high.

The Nadi Weather Office says a trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain remains slow moving over Fiji.

It is expected to gradually move southeastwards and affect the country till tomorrow.
