A heavy rain alert remains in force for the Northern Division, Taveuni and nearby smaller Islands, Eastern parts of Viti Levu, Serua, Namosi, Nausori, Naitasiri, Tailevu, Beqa and Vatulele, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti groups.

An active trough of low pressure lies slow moving over the Northern Division and Eastern parts of the Fiji group.

Associated clouds and rain affect the Northern and Eastern parts of the country.

Occasional rain, heavy at times and a few thunderstorms are expected as rain to ease to showers from tonight.

Localised heavy falls may lead to flooding of low-lying areas and flood-prone areas.

The possible impacts include localised flooding of susceptible communities, businesses and low-lying areas, localised flooding of minor roads, Irish crossings and bridges with some disruptions to traffic flow, and poor visibility at land and sea with increased risk of motor vehicle accidents due to slippery roads.
