Heavy rain alert in force for Macuata and Bua provinces and Southern Lau Group

People living in Vanua Levu and parts of Lau need to be prepared as a heavy rain alert is in force for Macuata and Bua provinces and Southern Lau Group.

A trough of low pressure with cloud and rain remains slow moving over parts of Fiji and expected to gradually drift eastwards away from the country later tomorrow.

Also expect rain and thunderstorms for Yasawa and Mamanuca Group, Nadi, Ba to Lautoka, Tavua to Vatukoula, Ra and interior of Ba area, Kadavu, Beqa and Vatulele.

Localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas.

Some disruption to traffic flow and poor visibility is expected.
