The Ministry of Health has received $142,000 worth of medical equipment from South Korea via Korea International Cooperation Agency and CIAT alumni club.

These equipment includes 7 mobile tents for fever clinics, personal protective equipment, portable washing stations and other related items and 3 highly specialized bio-safety cabinets.

While handing over the equipment, the Korean Ambassador to Fiji Shin-hee Cho says South Korea’s response is now being accepted as an exemplary model around the world.

She has also confirmed that soon they will be providing test kits worth US$300,000.

Minister for Health, Dr. Ifereimi Waqainabete says over the years Fiji has benefited from the help provided by South Korea.

Dr. Waqainabete says Fiji congratulates South Korea for the work they have done to contain COVID-19 in their country.

The Health Minister says the testing kits that will be donated by South Korea will help support the work that is happening in Fiji.
