The supplies include oxygen concentrators, face shields, surgical masks, gowns and coveralls.

The Ministry of Health has received further boost in their bid to combat COVID-19 after they were given $150,000 worth of medical supplies by the Asian Development Bank and the Government of Japan through UNICEF this morning.

The supplies include oxygen concentrators, face shields, surgical masks, gowns and coveralls.

While handing over the supplies, Asian Development Bank’s South Pacific Sub-regional Office Regional Director Masayuki Tachiiri says he understands how important it is for the Fijian boarders to open up again and adds that more assistance such as these would be required if that were to happen.

Tachiiri says Fiji is one of the few places in the world where people can still enjoy gatherings and these supplies is critical for that role to continue.

Minister for Health Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete has thanked the Government of Japan and the Asian Development Bank for their continuous support to Fiji during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Dr Waqainabete says these supplies will benefit medical workers from more than 220 facilities across the country.
