Health Ministry begins survey to understand parents perception regarding vaccination for 5-11 year old children

Parents are being asked about their perception regarding vaccination for children between the ages of 5 to 11 years ahead of the Ministry of Health’s rollout of the COVID-19 pediatric vaccination campaign.

Permanent Secretary, Doctor James Fong says the Ministry aims to understand whether parents have any concerns about the vaccine, what additional information they need to make an informed decision and the best way to communicate this information.

Dr. Fong says this will help the Ministry to develop communications that address information needs of parents using appropriate channels.

He further says the survey is expected to conclude in 2 weeks.

Fijians have been sent a text message where they must follow a link to complete the survey.

He adds they will announce the commencement date for the Pfizer vaccine for 5-11 years old roll out in the country in due time.
