Fijian fashion label, Haus of Koila will soon be launching their philanthropic arm called SOSE – Society of Sustainable Entrepreneurs which will focus on women and girls economic empowerment and sustainable development.

This has been revealed by the labels Director and fashion designer, Adi Koila Ganilau during the launch of their inaugural Sustainable Fashion with a Purpose Show

Adi Kolia says they have already started assisting primary school students in Wainiavu Village, Namosi.

She says they have supplied them with clothes, school stationery and are teaching them to be self-sustainable entrepreneurs from a very young age.

She says SOSE is village focused and takes a human rights-based approach to existing social inclusion at the underdeveloped and grassroots level.

Adi Koila has also highlighted that their business had suffered in the first three months when COVID-19 hit but it has picked up now especially online sales from Australia, United States and Europe.

She adds that they employed more stay at home mothers who wanted a job during their down period and also made face masks for Save the Children Fiji.

Meanwhile, Sustainable Fashion with a Purpose Show will be on the 17th of December at Novotel Lami.

Adi Koila says the new collection is a time capsule collection reflecting the different generations from her late grandmother, Ro Adi Lady Lala Mara to her great-granddaughters who are learning to embrace the new world that will become post-COVID-19.
