The only established Fijian owned commercial bank, HFC Bank has partnered with Damodar City Labasa to meet customer demands in the Friendly North.

HFC General Manager Operations and Transformation Admond Chandra says the bank will employ additional staff and current staff from the existing Labasa branch to cater for the customers.

Chandra says they will emulate the newly established Namaka Branch concept in the North.

HFC Bank says the Damodar City Labasa Shopping Centre is solely financed by them.

Bank CEO Rakesh Ram says they are investing in their staff, upskilling them and providing the best tools so the customers are provided with better services.

He says the signing of the partnership is a milestone achievement as it is their first major investment in Labasa.

Damodar Group Of Companies Group CEO Div Damodar says there will be employment opportunities for up to 1000 people when they are fully operational.

Damodar says they have completed the first phase of the Shopping Centre and have started the construction works on phase two of the development, which is expected to be completed by November 2023.

He says they have a supermarket, bread shop, HFC Bank, and eateries

He further says phase two will have a cinema, food court, and retail shops.
