Government will be distributing more than 500 grocery and essential item packs to families affected by the lockdown in Qauia Settlement in Lami today.

Teams from the Ministry of Economy Data Entry Team, Fiji Police Force and Ministry of Health were in Qauia yesterday for the electronic registration of household information and their needs.

They say this data will be used for the distribution of groceries and essential items today.

Currently, there are 152 families in home isolation in Nadi areas of Lavusa, Sabeto, Nawaka Village, Navo, Tunalia, Naqadamu Village, Namulomulo, Barara Settlement, Miegunyah, Malolo, Korovuto, Nawaicoba, Sonaisali, Qeleloa, Kerebula, Votualevu and other areas.

173 packs are planned to be distributed to these households tomorrow as there are 21 households with more than six members who will be provided with two food ration packs.

Meanwhile, a total of 707 grocery and essential item packs were distributed yesterday.

19 grocery and essential item packs were delivered to people in home isolation in Nasese, Flagstaff and Cunningham.

688 grocery and essential item packs were distributed in Nawaka, Nadi lockdown areas where 351 households in Tramline, 51 in Qina Settlement, 103 in Nawajikuma and 62 households in Qina received the packs.

They say 117 households who have more than 6 members in their family were provided with two food ration packs while 4 households who have 12 or more members were provided with 3 packs.

To date, about 3,085 packs have been delivered to Fijians in Nawaka lockdown areas.

About 962 packs have been delivered to Fijians in home isolation in Lami, Suva, Nasinu and Nausori areas.

About 7,764 groceries and essential item packs have been distributed to those in targeted lockdown and home isolation.

To date, a total of 37,264 food ration, grocery and essential item packs have been distributed by the Fijian Government.
