The Government is planning to transfer bond monitoring, travel clearance, and full bond clearance functions from the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service to TSLS.

Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad confirmed this while speaking at the opening of the new TSLS Office in Nadi.

He says this will make TSLS a one-stop shop for these services, conveniently located near the international airport and Immigration Office.

Professor Prasad says TSLS will work closely with the Department of Immigration for the listing and removal of names from the Immigration Controversial List.

He says in the 2023-2024 national budget, the Coalition Government allocated 10,920 awards to support new students through Scholarships and Study Grants and has committed $148.3 million for new and continuing students.

Professor Prasad also highlighted the Government's focus on increasing access to tertiary education, particularly for women and people with disabilities.

He adds that currently, over 53 percent of those sponsored under Fiji Government Scholarships are female, with a graduation rate exceeding that number.
