Permanent Secretary for Health Doctor James Fong says the Government has indicated that it can potentially get its hands on 500,000 doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines.

Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines were used for the first time on children aged 12, 13 and 14 years at Gospel Primary School this morning.

Vaccination sites are open till 3pm.

Doctor Fong says this has been the plan which is to vaccinate students in different age groups and start school after a while for that particular age group.

Doctor Fong says they have done a lot of work to get the Pfizer vaccines rolled out.

He says nurses part of the roll out program went through a re-education program.

On the vaccination of the adult target population, Doctor Fong says they are struggling to get beyond the 90% fully vaccinated rate.
