Government of Japan provides assistance to those affected by TC Harold

A total of $72,290 worth of relief supplies was handed over today to the National Disaster Management Office from the Government of Japan to help in their relief efforts after Tropical Cyclone Harold.

The relief supplies includes tents, water tanks and generators.

Minister for Rural and Maritime Development and National Disaster Management, Inia Seruiratu says these supplies will ease the suffering of those affected by TC Harold.

He says it also shows the long relationship between the two nations that was forged during the times of need.

Japanese Ambassador, Masahiro Omura says this year has been a difficult and challenging year.

He says these items will enable communities get back on their feet and it also compliments the hard work the Government of Fiji has been doing for affected people.
