The 17-year-old girl who was allegedly raped by a group of nine youths in Kadavu last week has been escorted to Suva for counseling.
Police Spokesperson Ana Naisoro says that the identity of the accused persons is known to Police as their investigations continue.
When asked if anyone has been questioned in relation to the alleged incident, Naisoro says they do not want to go public on that yet.
The girl was allegedly raped in an empty house.
Police say the girl had left her village following a disagreement with a family member and had sheltered in the vacant home in the next village where the alleged incident occurred.
