Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s Team Coach Gareth Baber says getting his team ready for the Olympics in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic is the hardest thing he has had to do.

As Fiji prepares to play in an international 7s tournament after more than a year, Baber says anyone who is trying to prepare for the Olympics wants consistency in their preparations.

Baber adds this has been different to any 7s series or 15s games he has prepared for.

Baber also says he is blessed with the culture and nature of Fijians who seem to thrive when things do not go their way.

The Fiji Men’s 7s team will take on Australia at 4pm today in the Oceania 7s.

Fiji will then face the Oceania 7s team at 9.30 tonight.

The national side has two more games tomorrow where they take on the All Blacks 7s team at 4.22pm and Australia at 9.30pm.

Fiji has two games on Sunday as well.

They take on the Oceania 7s team at 2.30pm and New Zealand at 8.07pm.

There are six rounds of matches in the Oceania 7s where each team will play each other twice.

The highest-ranked team after six matches will be declared the winner.

The Women’s 7s team will play Australia at 5.06pm today and New Zealand at 10.14 tonight.

They will play the Oceania 7s team at 4.44pm tomorrow and Australia at 10.36pm tomorrow.

The Women’s team will play New Zealand at 3.14pm and then play the Oceania 7s team at 8.33pm Sunday.
