Aruna Prasad, a former Magistrate and legal practitioner, has been appointed to the Board of the Fiji National Provident Fund by the Minister for Finance, in accordance with Section 7(1) of the FNPF Act.

She is a qualified legal practitioner with over 40 years of experience, boasting an impressive career spanning private practice, public prosecution, and the judiciary.

Prasad holds a Law Degree from Victoria University of Wellington and has been admitted to the Bar in Fiji, New Zealand and Australia.

Her professional journey includes serving as Principal Legal Officer at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, as a Magistrate in the Fijian Judiciary, and as Director of the Legal Aid Commission.

Additionally, she has contributed as a judicial officer for the Tax, VAT, and ALTO Tribunals, reinforcing her deep understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks.

With her strong background in law and governance, Prasad is expected to enhance the Board’s capacity for strategic decision-making and regulatory compliance.
