Former Counter Narcotics Bureau member and Police officer, Isireli Waqairalia Daulevu has been further remanded in custody until 15th October for his bail hearing.

Daulevu has been charged with one count of abuse of office.

He appeared before Magistrate Shageeth Somaratne this morning.

It is alleged that during the month of July 2024, he abused his authority and without lawful excuse, leaked official investigation documents to an unauthorized third party, which is an arbitrary act, prejudicial to the rights of the Fiji Police Force.

State Prosecutor, Unal Lal objected to bail.

Lal says he is seeking time to file his response.

The case will be called again in 14 days on 15th October for bail hearing.
